As the world transforms quicker by the day, the capability to transform fast and manage projects efficiently is more vital than ever. That's the reason agile practices—specifically Scrum—are becoming more popular in companies all over the world.
The course "Go Agile or Go Home: Scrum Your Way to Project Success" is designed to give you a brief and practical overview of the agile mentality and methodology, in this case trough the Scrum framework. It is meant to empower you to use these principles in real projects, even as a beginner or student.
Picture this: you work on a project for months, only to realize at the end that it's not what the client wanted. Frustrating, right? That's exactly the kind of thing Agile is meant to avoid.
Agile is all about flexibility, rapid delivery, and ongoing communication. Instead of waiting until the absolute last minute to show your work, Agile teaches you to work in short cycles, with ongoing feedback along the way. This enables teams to change fast, fix problems early, and always know where they stand.
Scrum is one of the most widely used Agile frameworks.
Scrum splits the project into short time intervals called sprints. Everyone in the team knows what they're doing and what's to be done. At the end of each sprint, you've got something concrete to show for it. The planning is carried out by the team, the progress is tracked, and the results are reviewed at the end of each sprint. This way, the work is always organized and surprises are reduced to a bare minimum.
No matter what you are studying—IT, marketing, teaching, or something else understanding how to use Agile and Scrum can really enhance how you manage group projects, classwork, and even your future professional life.
U današnjem dinamičnom poslovnom okruženju, sposobnost brzog prilagođavanja promenama i efikasnog upravljanja projektima postaje ključna za uspeh. Upravo iz tog razloga agilne metodologije, a posebno Scrum, sve više zauzimaju centralno mesto u organizacijama širom sveta. Kurs “Go Agile or Go Home: Scrum your way to Project Success” osmišljen je kako bi pružio jasan i praktičan uvod u agilni način razmišljanja i Scrum okvir, sa ciljem da polaznicima omogući uspešnu primenu ovih principa u svakodnevnom radu.
Everyone's talking about Agile, but do you actually know what lies behind all these "sprints," "stand-ups," and "user stories"?
The examples below explain such interesting terms:
1. Agile was born in the mountains
The Agile Manifesto wasn't penned in an office—it was penned in the snow! A team of software engineers met in 2001 at a ski resort in Utah (USA), where they established the 4 core values and 12 principles that now make up the basis of Agile work.
2. The 15-minute daily stand-up—and yes, everyone stands!
Imagine having a meeting that really only lasts for 15 minutes. In Scrum, it's not a dream—that's the rule! The team should quickly state what got done, what's next, and what's blocking it. Keeping it brief and to the point by standing up.
3. The Scrum Master is not the manager—they're more the bodyguard of the team
A Scrum Master does not dominate the team—instead, they pave the way and protect the team from outside distractions. They're on a quest to make everything run like clockwork, a well-oiled machine.
4. Agile is a game industry best friend
From CD Projekt Red to Blizzard, most prestigious game development houses use Scrum to enhance their response to change during the development process and from the feedback of players.
5. The secret to Agile? – "Working software!"
Agile chooses a working prototype instead of perfection in documentation. The rule is: "Working software over complete documentation"—what works is what matters.
2. Daily stand-up traje tačno 15 minuta i zapravo – svi stoje!
